After decades of research and practice at Chalco aluminum, many scientific research results have been achieved in the production method of copper clad aluminum foil. The advantages and disadvantages of  copper clad aluminum foil with different processes are as follows:

1. Hot rolling compound process (plate, belt): the surface of the two metal materials is roughened, the billet is heated on-line through an induction furnace, and then rolled and compounded by a small rolling mill (rolling mill). The two metals are compounded together. (This method is mainly made of steel-to-steel composite materials. Its disadvantages: ① The bonding strength is low and it cannot meet its electrical conductivity requirements ② It cannot be folded at right angles

2. Explosive recombination, production process: It uses explosive as energy source. After the explosive between the copper plate and the aluminum plate is detonated, it changes into a stable detonation after self-acceleration, and moves forward at a certain speed. Under the pressure of the detonation product, it collides with the aluminum plate at a certain angle, thereby achieving metallurgical bonding between the substrate and the composite. Explosive recombination can achieve recombination without oxygen. Can't make thin plates.
Advantages:
a. This composite method has high bonding strength, not limited to the combination between copper and aluminum, and can be arbitrarily combined between two or more metals
b. The width can be unlimited, and the proportion of copper and aluminum can be adjusted within a relatively large range.
Disadvantages:
a. Due to the difference in initiation position, spacing, charge form and detonation wave propagation method, it is easy to cause a reduction in the recombination rate, and it is easy to produce over-melting phenomenon at the interface, which is difficult to meet the technical requirements Produce higher welding quality.
b. Flaw detection is required between the composite plates, subsequent repair welding, milling and punching on the milling machine, the process is complicated, the cost is very high, and thin plates or strips cannot be produced

3. Hot-melt composite production process: Henan Chalco ‘s copper clad aluminum foil  produced by a semi-melted continuous rolling composite process. The copper and aluminum are in an oxygen-free state and are rolled under a pressure of 8,000 tons. Subsequent processing through cold rolling, vacuum annealing, online cleaning, finished product shearing, etc., truly realized the oxygen-free metallurgical compound-the best product specially designed to replace pure copper.
advantage:
1. Patented technology, the compounding rate is more than 97%, the bonding strength is high, the peeling strength is high, the mechanical strength is high, the flatness is good, the conductivity is good, the electrical appliance industry is particularly recommended
2. Good mechanical properties, convenient for further processing; can be cut, stamped, drilled, hemmed, corroded, etc. according to user needs
3. Widely used, 80% of the fields used by pure copper strips can be replaced; decoration industry: copper doors, copper flowers, copper railings, copper curtain walls, various copper crafts, etc. Conductive industry (T2 copper + 1060 aluminum): copper clad aluminum foil , shielding foil, connecting plate, industrial gasket, low-voltage electrical appliances, conductive copper bar, reactor, transformer belt, etc .; heat conduction industry: solar collector plate, automobile water tank Belts, hot tableware, various heat sinks, etc.! . Disadvantages: large equipment investment and large capital flow. The cost of small-scale production is too high; there are many methods for composite boards. They all have main composite boards suitable for their own processes. Not all processes are suitable for copper-aluminum composite materials, nor are all processes suitable for copper-steel composite materials. Because each method has its advantages and disadvantages.
